This book explores the concept of judicial efficiency from a comparative perspective. The challenges of ensuring timely and cost-effective justice have long been among the central concerns of civil justice systems worldwide. Against this background, the International Association of Procedural Law (IAPL)—the world’s leading global professional association in the field of procedural law—devoted its annual conference, held in Zagreb in September 2025, to the theme “Judicial Efficiency Revisited.” This volume brings together expanded and carefully edited versions of the papers presented at that conference, which was organized in cooperation with the Ibero-American Institute of Procedural Law. It contains contributions by forty authors from thirty different jurisdictions across Europe, North and South America, Africa, and Asia. The volume combines chapters by internationally renowned experts in civil procedure with contributions from promising early-career scholars selected through an international call for papers.
Ova knjiga bavi se iz komparativne perspektive temom efikasnosti pravosuđa. Izazovi osiguravanja pravodobne i troškovno učinkovite pravne zaštite već dugo predstavljaju jedno od središnjih pitanja s kojima se suočavaju sustavi građanskog pravosuđa diljem svijeta. Polazeći od toga, Međunarodno udruženje za procesno pravo (International Association of Procedural Law – IAPL), vodeća svjetska profesionalna udruga u području procesnog prava, posvetilo je svoju godišnju konferenciju, održanu u Zagrebu u rujnu 2025., temi „Judicial Efficiency Revisited“. Ovaj zbornik predstavlja proširene i pažljivo uređene verzije radova izlaganih na toj konferenciji, koja je organizirana u suradnji s Ibero-američkim institutom za procesno pravo (IIDP). Sadrži priloge četrdesetak autora iz trideset zemalja Europe, Sjeverne i Južne Amerike, Afrike i Azije. U knjizi su objedinjeni radovi međunarodno priznatih stručnjaka za građansko procesno pravo i perspektivnih mladih istraživača odabranih putem međunarodnog poziva za dostavu radova.
